We Lifted the Bandage and Froze

I’ve got an update for you about Ringo, the brave little dog we’ve rescued last week with terrible injuries on his back and neck. This little guy has endured unimaginable injuries and trauma. And while he’s starting to feel a little better, he’s still terrified, uncomfortable, and nowhere near out of the woods.Right now, we’re carefully managing his infection and preparing him for surgery in a few days.

But first, we must tackle his anemia, it’s critical. Thankfully, his haematocrit level, previously dangerously low at 18.7, has risen slightly to 19.3. This isn’t a dramatic leap, but it’s proof he’s beginning to respond positively to the leishmaniasis treatment.
